this weeks treasure

The weather here has been so HOT ! and what do we do - go caching and that should tell all that we are addicted to this hobby. We did some interesting caches this week - one which will be one of my favorites, not for the hide but for location. It was at the gate of a nudist colony and on the day we went lo and behold the gate was open and there was eye candy... for an old lady anyways haha!
In the cache was a free pass too but we didnt pick it up but left it for some other brave soul. I seen some other nice caches on Tuesday down in Suffolk. One was in one of the nicest playgrounds for kids i have seen in a long time. Another fun find for us was one near an art museum. I see a lot of interesting caches out here that I want to do by the cache name and then sometimes I am disappointed by what we find. When I see a theme cache I really wish those coming to the cache would please stick with the theme - for instance one recently was a matchbox car theme- why would someone put a beer cap in there? I dont know how many we will be doing the rest of the summer as with gas prices we will have to make our trips worthwhile, but I look forward to finding them and hope that when there are travel bugs listed - they are there and not finding an empty cache box. happy caching

Bryan Park caching

A beautiful day to go out caching again for us. We started out doing a few micros but then we were not finding a few so decided to go ahead to Bryan Park. It had been a long time since we had been there and only at the start of the park so we were really surprised at how large it was.On a roll with the cache finds there, we found all we were looking for and found some unusual things too. One cache was at a mini stonehedge type structure that noone seems to know what it is or why it is there. I spent a bit of time pondering it while standing in a large meadow it was in. So we were down to the last 2 caches but unfortuneatly we also ran into the bike racers who were there for a time trial race where we needed to go. So we started back to the car and it always seems there is some reason why things happen. A big storm came up and if we had stayed we may have been in the middle of where the tornado warnings were. Here is another place we need to come back to again even if it is just to enjoy another lovely park in Richmond.

sundays caches

Perringrim and I took my grandson out caching yesterday while we were on our way to visit my son in laws parents. We did some really neat caches out in King William - one was a bridge to nowhere. Really neat to see a bridge just sitting there with stairs leading up to it. We took pics but when we came home found that they just disappeared on the camera. A few others that we took at the old courthouse were not on either but the ones before and after were there. must have run into a spirit who did not want us to have those shots. All went well caching til we got to the last one and it was too far for us to walk with the baby and make it to the family dinner on time so will have to return anyways as i really want those pics. I hope tomorrow to have 3 of the 8 containers ready for my new series of caches I want to get out this weekend. til another day....
